Leadership Development

Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Program

The Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Program (ENLP) is a dynamic, nine-month leadership program for the next generation of nonprofit leaders in the Greater Richmond region. For over 15 years, ENLP has been creating space for area leaders to invest in themselves, uncovering potential, building community and strengthening the nonprofit sector.

Volunteer Management

As the volunteer center for our region, the Community Foundation is committed to helping nonprofits build strong, effective volunteer programs. We offer a range of capacity-building opportunities, from training to resources, that equip nonprofit professionals and organizations to recruit, manage, and retain volunteers with confidence.

Service Enterprise

Service Enterprise is a national change management program that builds an organization’s capacity to strategically utilize volunteers to support their mission. Participating organizations take a self-assessment, participate in group training sessions, and receive customized coaching in preparation to earn accreditation.

Get Project Ready

The Get Project Ready suite of workshops helps equip nonprofits to activate volunteers across a spectrum of organizational needs. By providing a diverse range of volunteer opportunities, nonprofits attract a wider audience of supporters.  Topics include group volunteering, skills-based volunteering, and creating kit projects.

Volunteer Management Fundamentals

Volunteer Management Fundamentals is an 8-week hybrid course designed to equip nonprofit staff with skills to build a strong, strategic, and sustainable volunteer engagement program. The content covers volunteer recruitment, retention, training, recognition, risk management, methods for engaging diverse audiences, and more.

The Center for Nonprofit Excellence

Nonprofit Advising & Fundamentals Workshops

CNE is a state-wide nonprofit capacity building organization that serves as a champion, learning partner, and advisor to Virginia nonprofits. The Center for Nonprofit Excellence works in partnership with The Community Foundation for a greater Richmond to develop targeted, responsive, and high-quality services and offerings that enhance the ability of nonprofits to manage change and deepen impact. Current CNE offerings include Technical Assistance and nonprofit management trainings.
