Sherrie Armstrong is only the second President and CEO of the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond, which helps to lead and leverage collective action that will further develop a vibrant region where all individuals and families can prosper. Armstrong has dedicated her entire career to philanthropy and the compassionate, long-term work that is required to build stronger, more equitable communities. Prior to joining the Community Foundation in 2015, she enjoyed 26 years in various leadership roles with the United Way at the local and national level. That is where she developed her “why” – a passion for ensuring that all children have opportunities throughout their young lives, so they can achieve their full potential and build strong foundations for their own families.
Under Armstrong’s leadership, the Community Foundation has grown tremendously, in both size and impact. As an innovator, collaborator and changemaker, the Foundation recognizes the potential for real and lasting change is based on cultivating strong relationships with donors and cross-sector partners and aligning efforts to a regional goal of inclusive economic growth and opportunity for all residents.
Armstrong’s commitment to a stronger region extends to her service on several community boards over the years including Grow Capital Jobs, Chamber RVA, The Forum Club, and 757-RVA Partnership, United Way for a Greater Richmond, and Venture Richmond.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from West Virginia University.

Scott Blackwell
Senior Consultant
Scott previously served seven years as the Chief Impact Officer, leading the team that manages regional nonprofit relationships and grantmaking. Scott oversaw the development and implementation of our community impact and grantmaking strategies. He collaborated with regional leaders to facilitate community conversations and identify local needs and funding opportunities.
In his current role he is focused on the implementation of the foundation’s strategic plan and its economic mobility focus. Scott also is working with a group of regional leaders to create a regional framework for critical pillars (e.g.: housing, jobs, workforce, health) to serve our residents who have historically been living in poverty. His work fosters valuable partnerships between public and private groups who are interested in creating long-term, sustainable change in our community.
His love for the Richmond community is undeniable and his drive to strengthen partnerships between local organizations continues to fuel our work to better serve our donors and the community.
When Scott is not working, he might be dining at a local restaurant or spending time hiking in the region. Scott loves to travel and is an avid supporter of all things UVA!
Scott is a proud graduate of LEAD VA and Leadership Metro Richmond, where he served as Chair of the Board and enjoys modern art and old houses. He likes photographing his travels along the way.

Molly spends her time aligning the philanthropic interests of donors with needs in the Greater Richmond region. She has a gift for connecting with people and thrives on helping donors discover and fulfill their philanthropic goals.
Water is Molly's love language. She started swimming competitively in 1st grade, continued through college, and is now more of a "sporadic" swimmer. She hails from Pittsburgh and is, of course, a Steelers fan!

Amy Singleton
Vice President, Foundation Partnerships
Amy joined the Foundation in 2011 and and currently serves as Vice President of Philanthropic Services. In this role, she is jointly responsible for overseeing donor engagement for the Foundation, focusing on family philanthropy and opportunities to develop partnerships between the Community Foundation and donors. Amy works with several of the Foundation’s Supporting Organizations, private foundations and multi-generation families to help them achieve their philanthropic goals. This is accomplished through the establishment of charitable funds and sharing information about community initiatives, nonprofits and ways to support a vibrant Richmond region. Amy most enjoys meeting with donors and partners of the Community Foundation to match their interests and philanthropic goals with needs in the community.
When Amy is not working, her two children, husband and dog keep her busy with multiple activities after work and on the weekends. Amy enjoys tackling home projects inspired by all the HGTV shows she watches, painting and crafting with her artistic daughter and spending time outside hiking at local parks with her son and husband. Outside of the office, she serves on the board of the Virginia Gift Planning Council, is a member of the Estate Planning Council and a volunteer with Northstar Academy.

Josh Epps has worked in the Central Virginia nonprofit sector for nearly two decades, supporting both direct-service organizations and efforts to strengthen the broader systems that communities rely on. He brings a practical, relationship-driven approach to his work grounded in the belief that sustainable impact is built by aligning people, resources, and strategy around shared community priorities.
In his off-time Josh enjoys being active and can be found hiking and biking many of the parks and trails in Virginia, North Carolina, or anywhere with mountains he can get to. Josh has been a local musician for over twenty-five years and enjoys attending concerts with friends and family.

Sarah is a member of the Philanthropic Services team, working with many of our most engaged donors and families to identify opportunities that align with their charitable goals and maximize their impact. She also leads the organization's efforts to engage and inspire the next generation of philanthropists. As a 21/64 Certified Trainer, she brings specialized expertise in multigenerational family dynamics and the unique opportunities and challenges of family philanthropy.
Personal Anecdote - Outside of work, Sarah enjoys traveling, running and spending time with her husband and two children. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Weinstein JCC and Richmond Jewish Foundation.

A key member of our Philanthropic Services team, Curtis regularly meets with current and prospective donors and families to help them achieve their charitable goals. Curtis also assists local nonprofits with managing their endowment funds and works with companies seeking to activate their values through philanthropy. Curtis brings a wealth of experience in the nonprofit and academic sectors to bear in problem solving and enjoys helping donors find their passion.
When he is not working, Curtis and his wife have three awesome children (aren’t they all) and live in Hanover. Aside from the obvious joy one takes in family, Curtis is crazy about coffee, soccer and cars. He’s owned a bunch of cars; if you can guess how many, he just might buy you lunch. Fun Fact: He saw his childhood idol, Pelé, play (and score) on August 6, 1977 at RFK Stadium.

As Director, Inclusive Philanthropy, Greg (as he likes to be called) engages with CF's current fundholders and Giving Circle donors on a regular basis. He enjoys the collaborative effort in matching a donor's intent with a nonprofit addressing a need in the community. His role also entails showing up in new spaces, meeting new people of various backgrounds and ethnicities, and sharing the benefits of furthering philanthropy in partnership with the Foundation.
When he's not working, Greg spends his time with family and friends, enjoying Richmond's arts scene - primarily music, film, and of course, culinary.

Tiffany provides program support to the Foundation’s Giving Circles. She also collaborates with other cross-functional teams to coordinate external facing events hosted by the Foundation. Her attention to detail and organizational skills ensure that our processes run smoothly.
When Tiffany is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, saltwater fishing, and gardening. Tiffany has bartends at special events on the weekends, and loves the vibe of a live jazz band!

As Philanthropy Steward, Evie collaborates with her team to foster deeper relationships with donors through strategies that help donors achieve their individual goals and stay informed about their interests and community needs. She also provides administrative support for some of the Foundation’s Supporting Organizations and private foundations, including the Jenkins Foundation. She is excited to help the Foundation support the Richmond community she was born and raised in.
Evie loves exploring parks, seeing concerts in any genre from pop to prog rock, tending to her pet shrimp tank, and serving as a Virginia Master Naturalist volunteer.

Lincoln is responsible for overseeing the Community Foundation's three affiliates: Gloucester Community Foundation, Mathews Community Foundation, and River Counties Community Foundation, managing the work of the affiliate staff in grantmaking, nonprofit capacity building, community development, and donor acquisition and engagement. Lincoln also builds and maintains the relationships and activities for all three affiliates’ Advisory Boards, which include local leaders from the communities the affiliates serve.
He currently serves on the board of Friends of the Rappahannock, the Mid-Atlantic River Council of American Rivers, and the steering committee for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s Rural Investment Collaborative. When Lincoln is not working, he loves kayaking the rivers of the Northern Neck, where he lives with his husband George and their two dogs: a Yellow Lab named Huckleberry, and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Helen.

Jonathan Putt is a seasoned nonprofit and community development professional with over two decades of leadership experience spanning youth services, philanthropy, tourism, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Sr. Philanthropic Advisor at the Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, Jonathan manages a portfolio of over 450 donors, helping individuals and families realize their charitable goals while working collaboratively with board members and community volunteers.
When not working, Jonathan serves on 3 local non-profit boards and also enjoys assisting his local Rotary Club, as current Club President. He likes to spend time recharging his batteries on local waters as well as playing "bad" golf with his son who is currently a grad student at JMU.

Ashleigh provides administrative support to the advisory boards of three affiliate foundations—the Mathews Community Foundation, Gloucester Community Foundation, and River Counties Community Foundation. She manages meeting scheduling, prepares and organizes board materials, and coordinates the creation and distribution of annual reports and key mailings. Ashleigh is also the Chair of the Mathews Resource Council.
Outside of work, Ashleigh enjoys time with her husband, Edward, and their children, Ainsleigh and Tallan. She loves soaking up sunshine at the pool or beach, and her family often visits the Outer Banks to relax and enjoy the sand and surf.

In his role, Jonathan cultivates, maintains and stewards long-term relationships with donors to the Foundation. He most enjoys assisting donors with their giving, and looking for potential alignment with Foundation initiatives.
When he is not working, Jonathan loves to spend time with his son Jackson, spend time on the bay, travel, and play bad golf.
Ashleigh Elliott

Ashleigh provides administrative support to the advisory boards of the three affiliate foundations: the Mathews Community Foundation, the Gloucester Community Foundation, and the River Counties Community Foundation. Her responsibilities include scheduling meetings, collating board materials, and overseeing the distribution of annual reports and key mailings.
Ashleigh most enjoys the opportunity to see the generosity and compassion of our donors who provide funds to make their small community better for everyone. “As I raise my daughter, I only want the best for her — and the support from our donors makes our community a better place,” she says.
She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her husband, Edward, and her four-year-old daughter, Ainsleigh. She also loves basking in the sunshine at her pool or the beach. Her family typically travels to the Outer Banks three times a year to enjoy the sun and the sand!

Sarah serves as the Foundation’s Chief Impact Officer, leading efforts to advance upward economic mobility across the region. She works across sectors and departments to align grantmaking, capacity building, and strategic partnerships in support of thriving communities. Sarah brings more than two decades of nonprofit experience, including leadership in state and federal advocacy, coalition building, and systems change. Before joining the Foundation, she served as the CEO of Virginia Health Catalyst.
You might find Sarah on a long walk around the Fan, rearranging furniture for fun, or looking for her Kindle. She loves a cozy living room, a great meal, and a good laugh.

As Senior Vice President, Community Impact, Audrey works with foundation leaders, boards, and committees to execute strategic direction for the Community Impact team, which is the grant-making function of the foundation. In her role, she ensures the thoughtful execution and delivery of community investments to support organizations and programs that are addressing the social and equity challenges in the Richmond region.
When Audrey is not working, she loves to be outside – you might find her exploring the trails in Richmond and across Virginia, hanging in the yard with her husband Derek and their two dogs, or floating the river! Audrey also enjoys live music and spending time on the front porch of thier Northside home with a neighbor or a good book.

As Vice President, Community Impact, Eric plays a critical role in identifying neighborhoods, individuals and families that will most benefit from a change in economic trajectory that has generational sustainability. Eric is our staff lead for work surrounding the health and wellness initiatives of both the Community Foundation and the Jenkins Foundation. In addition to facilitating the grant application process for both organizations, Eric plays a strategic part in identifying community solutions in the health field. He most enjoys working with communities to create necessary and sustainable opportunities for historically underserved populations. When Eric is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending local festivals and visiting historical sites to learn something new!
Isabel Eljaiek, MSW

Isabel Eljaiek, MSW
Vice President, Research & Strategy
Isabel Eljaiek serves as Vice President of Research & Strategy where she translates complexity into action- bridging data, research, and community voice to advance economic mobility across the region. She currently serves as Executive on Loan to PlanRVA, supporting the RVA Rising Data Collaborative as a regional partnership effort. With over a decade of experience spanning nonprofit strategy and participatory community programs, Isabel holds a Master's in Social Work Administration & Policy and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Outside of the office, you can catch Isabel practicing headstands with her daughter, tending her backyard urban farm with her husband, or lost in a good book.

Director, Economic Mobility
Melody Porter leads the Foundation's Economic Mobility portfolio, overseeing strategy development, grantmaking, convening, and partnerships that advance positive change in issues centered on housing and workforce, with a strong focus on supporting and creating inclusive communities in the Richmond region. Melody brings decades of experience in co-developing partnerships in university-based civic and community engagement, nonprofit programming, and community-focused ministry. She has a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and has served as board chair of Break Away and on the council of Richmond Hill.
When not working, Melody is often making up songs with her daughters, chatting with her neighbors, eating cheese, listening to podcasts, stargazing, and trying to find time to take up knitting again.

Megyn oversees the Community Foundation’s nonprofit capacity building programming and partnerships. Her work includes leading nonprofit leadership programming and working with organizations across the region to bring capacity resources to area nonprofits.
When Megyn is not at work, she’s likely enjoying one of the city’s many greenspaces or restaurants. In her free time, Megyn enjoys running, hiking in the mountains, and adventuring with her toddler. She wants to visit all the country's national parks. 11 down, 55 to go.

Diana Villarreal
Manager, Community Partnerships
As the Program Manager of Community Partnerships, Diana builds meaningful relationships with nonprofits and connects them with the Community Foundation’s resources, equipping them with tools and knowledge to meet community needs through their missions. Additionally, Diana supports nonprofits through our Engagement Center, CFengage, where she helps connect organizations to volunteers and oversees programming that builds the capacity of our region to engage the community.
Outside of work, Diana enjoys spending time with family, connecting with friends, cooking, and exploring restaurants in Richmond.

As the Grants and Process Manager, Jerrika facilitates the competitive grants process for the Community Impact team. Sarah serves as the Foundation’s Chief Impact Officer, leading efforts to advance upward economic mobility across the region. She works across sectors and departments to align grantmaking, capacity building, and strategic partnerships in support of thriving communities. Sarah brings more than two decades of nonprofit experience, including leadership in state and federal advocacy, coalition building, and systems change. Before joining the Foundation, she served as the CEO of Virginia Health Catalyst.
You might find Sarah on a long walk around the Fan, rearranging furniture for fun, or looking for her Kindle. She loves a cozy living room, a great meal, and a good laugh.
Audrey Trussell

As Senior Vice President, Community Impact, Audrey works with foundation leaders, boards, and committees to execute strategic direction for the Community Impact team, which is the grant-making function of the foundation. In her role, she ensures the thoughtful execution and delivery of community investments to support organizations and programs that are addressing the social and equity challenges in the Richmond region.
When Audrey is not working, she loves to be outside – you might find her exploring the trails in Richmond and across Virginia, hanging in the yard with her husband Derek and their two dogs, or floating the river! Audrey also enjoys live music and spending time on the front porch of thier Northside home with a neighbor or a good book.

As Vice President, Community Impact, Eric plays a critical role in identifying neighborhoods, individuals and families that will most benefit from a change in economic trajectory that has generational sustainability. Eric is our staff lead for work surrounding the health and wellness initiatives of both the Community Foundation and the Jenkins Foundation. In addition to facilitating the grant application process for both organizations, Eric plays a strategic part in identifying community solutions in the health field. He most enjoys working with communities to create necessary and sustainable opportunities for historically underserved populations. When Eric is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending local festivals and visiting historical sites to learn something new!
Isabel Eljaiek, MSW
Vice President, Research & Strategy
Isabel Eljaiek serves as Vice President of Research & Strategy where she translates complexity into action- bridging data, research, and community voice to advance economic mobility across the region. She currently serves as Executive on Loan to PlanRVA, supporting the RVA Rising Data Collaborative as a regional partnership effort. With over a decade of experience spanning nonprofit strategy and participatory community programs, Isabel holds a Master's in Social Work Administration & Policy and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Outside of the office, you can catch Isabel practicing headstands with her daughter, tending her backyard urban farm with her husband, or lost in a good book.
Melody Porter
Director, Economic Mobility
Melody Porter leads the Foundation's Economic Mobility portfolio, overseeing strategy development, grantmaking, convening, and partnerships that advance positive change in issues centered on housing and workforce, with a strong focus on supporting and creating inclusive communities in the Richmond region. Melody brings decades of experience in co-developing partnerships in university-based civic and community engagement, nonprofit programming, and community-focused ministry. She has a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and has served as board chair of Break Away and on the council of Richmond Hill.
When not working, Melody is often making up songs with her daughters, chatting with her neighbors, eating cheese, listening to podcasts, stargazing, and trying to find time to take up knitting again.

Megyn oversees the Community Foundation’s nonprofit capacity building programming and partnerships. Her work includes leading nonprofit leadership programming and working with organizations across the region to bring capacity resources to area nonprofits.

As the Program Manager of Community Partnerships, Diana builds meaningful relationships with nonprofits and connects them with the Community Foundation’s resources, equipping them with tools and knowledge to meet community needs through their missions. Additionally, Diana supports nonprofits through our Engagement Center, CFengage, where she helps connect organizations to volunteers and oversees programming that builds the capacity of our region to engage the community.

Working closely with each of the school districts, Alicia administers the R.E.B. Awards for Teaching Excellence and the R.E.B. Distinguished Educational Leadership Awards. These programs celebrate and recognize public school educators and principals who go above and beyond in their classroom and schools. When not work, Alicia can be found enjoying the outdoors with her husband and dog, Hazel, traveling, visiting local wineries, spending time with friends and family, or simply enjoying time at a great book and hot cup of coffee.

Pavlina serves as the primary staff for the annual audit process and assists with preparation of annual tax return for the Foundation and its related supporting organizations. Pavlina holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from VCU and has many years of non-profit accounting experience. Pavlina worked at the Community Foundation from 2006-2019 and rejoined again in 2025.
When Pavlina is not working she enjoys traveling and visiting new places. Pavlina stays busy with her two boys. She likes the summer, and she spends all her free time at the pool with her boys. They also visit Pavlina’s family in the Czech Republic.

She works to ensure donations are properly attributed and receipted for tax purposes. Leah has over a decade of experience in nonprofit operations. When not working, Leah enjoys working in her garden, walking her dog, and antiquing.
John Falk
Senior Officer, Grants
John Falk is the Foundation's Senior Officer, Grants. He is responsible for processing and providing assistance for grants.
John lives south of the river with his wife and six cats. He can often be found gardening, weightlifting, creating a food forest in his backyard, or finding nearby trails to explore.
Victoria Loe
Finance & Operations Associate
Victoria Loe is the Finance and Operations Associate, a role which offers internal support to the Foundation. She focuses on accounts payable, scholarship support, customer support, and other tasks as needed.
When Victoria is not working, she loves participating in things—festivals, street fairs, concerts, community events, art shows, and anything else that helps her to explore her community.
Mollie Sequiera
Office Coordinator
Mollie Sequeira is the Office Coordinator, managing day-to-day office operations, supporting events, and maintaining essential administrative processes. She partners across the foundation on administrative projects and assists with HR recruitment. Mollie holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond.
When not working, Mollie finds joy in coaching at Solidcore, hanging out with her two cats and fiancé, as well as trying out new restaurants.
Pavlina Siford
Finance Officer
Pavlina serves as the primary staff for the annual audit process and assists with preparation of annual tax return for the Foundation and its related supporting organizations. Pavlina holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from VCU and has many years of non-profit accounting experience. Pavlina worked at the Community Foundation from 2006-2019 and rejoined again in 2025.
When Pavlina is not working she enjoys traveling and visiting new places. Pavlina stays busy with her two boys. She likes the summer, and she spends all her free time at the pool with her boys. They also visit Pavlina’s family in the Czech Republic.

Kim is responsible for strategic marketing initiatives, public relations, social media and branding for the organization. She is driven by the desire to continually build our region's culture of philanthropy and service and to bring awareness to the inspiring people and partnerships that are moving the region forward. Kim has an eye for detail and is gifted in articulating the Foundation's passion for building a stronger community.
When Kim is not working, she can be found spending time with friends at a local restaurant or enjoying time with her family in Lynchburg. Kim jumps at the idea of seeing the world and says her favorite place to travel is somewhere she hasn't yet visited.
Always game for trying a new restaurant or entertainment venue

Liz oversees marketing operations and implementation for the Foundation – from digital marketing channel communications to events to engagement programs and more. She enjoys collaborating with internal staff and outside partners on various strategic initiatives and projects that span various audiences, platforms and programs across the Foundation. Beyond her extensive marketing background, Liz specializes in facilitation, coaching and strategic design and planning.
Outside of work, Liz loves spending time with friends and family, traveling to the Outer Banks, Chesapeake Bay or to Mauritius, where her husband Kris is from. They live in Bon Air and have two boys – Oliver and Leo, and a fur baby Cayenne.

As the Director of Civic Engagement, Gail leads the Central Virginia regional volunteer center (CFengage.org), oversees corporate partnerships, coordinates the RVA Engage coalition to enhance regional volunteerism, and develops programs to engage the community on various initiatives. She is passionate about working with individuals and groups committed to making a positive impact and is inspired by the enthusiasm of volunteers.
Outside of work, Gail enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, cheering on U.Va. sports, and being outdoors.

She collaborates closely with colleagues across teams and external partners to bring campaigns and event promotion to life. Drawing on her experience in advertising and paid media, Evelyn creates engaging content and fosters strong digital communication that help people feel connected to the organization. When she’s not working, Evelyn enjoys live music, dancing, photography, and traveling—8 countries and counting!

He oversees visual identity standards, guides creative direction, and ensures consistency across all communications and platforms. His work integrates strategic thinking with creative execution to produce compelling visual storytelling that advances the Foundation’s mission and strengthens audience engagement.
In his free time, Kieran enjoys spending time outdoors. He can often be found kayaking on the James River with his wife and dog or volunteering with local river cleanup efforts. He is also a dedicated advocate for equal rights and the equitable treatment of individuals with disabilities.

They have always enjoyed witnessing the joy and sense of belonging that volunteering brings to individuals and how impactful intentional service can be for the nonprofits that help our community thrive.
Outside of work, Bailey skates with River City Roller Derby and enjoys trying new vegan recipes, spending time with their friends and cat, and taking long walks around Richmond's parks.

Julianne has a background spanning multiple industries from government contracting to professional basketball, and a Master of Social Work from Columbia University.
When not working, you can find Julianne watching reality tv, enjoying a spritz, attending a concert, or working out at BOHO Studios. She is a proud Cleveland sports fan and Northeast Ohio native.
